Hi Tom & Bo, Im new to your website. Some of my friends told me about it.
Here is my question: Can you push start a fuel injection Harley? I know you can push start a Carb Harley, but recently when my battery died we could'nt start my bike the same way...any ideas?

Hi Nicky...
In the new age of fuel injection on motorcycles some say a great thing others are not embracing the new technology very well...Being the technology is not new, it has been around for quite some years only now being used on motorcycles...If you know how EFI (electronic fuel injection) works in your automobile, it's the same principle on your Harley...There are many components to the system such as sensors, fuel pump, injectors, a computer etc...all could pose a no start problem...being you mentioned the battery being dead leads me to believe that your Harley wasn't able to be push started because there was no battery voltage for the fuel pump to operate...
With the EFI you need high fuel pressue in order to get the system to work, not like the good old days of a gravity fed carburetor...There is so much involved in the system that it could take a few pages to go through the whole system and how it works...I'll put in a link so you can read on how the system on your Harleys EFI system works...
Hope this helped you out and I also hope that you're finally up and on the road riding again...
