All of a sudden my throttle grip got stiff? Went to take a ride this morning and first I noticed that it seemed the whole right side housing throttle, brake lever was twisted up. Also, the throttle was really sticky. I readjusted everything back to the normal position. This is strange because the bike didn't seem to be touched. I keep it garaged.  But I have never felt the throttle this stiff before.
Any ideas as to what would cause it? and what I should do about it.
Everything seems fine, just the throttle won't spring back to idle position on its own.

Hi Lou...

You mentioned that when you went to take the bike out for a ride, you noticed that the right side controls had been twisted up, is there any possibility that someone had tipped the bike over against something in your garage..? After setting your controls in correct position and still having a sticky throttle, I would try to rule out problems one by one, start at the carburetor to make sure that the throttle moves freely, then the cables...I would also check the thumbscrew at the twistgrip as this may be tightened too much causing the barrel in the grip not to be able to twist...

                     Hope this helps you out...

Tom, Thank you for the advise. I checked out the thumb screw and it was tight, that was the problem. I never used it before so I wasnt thinking that was it, now all is well again. thank you again

Hi Lou...

Glad to hear that it was only that pesky little thumbscrew and nothing really serious to give you a problem...Happy riding...
