Hi Tommy & Bo,

This is a great forum, its nice to see someone cares enough to take the time to answer questions, so here is my problem. I have a 2006 FXDWG, twice while at red light's while i had my bike in neutral gear it slipped down into 1st gear on its own, the first time this happened I nearly lost it. And one time when I kicked it into neutral and the neutral light came on it was a false reading, my tranny was in 1st gear. my dealer cant find anything wrong but now I find myself holding the clutch in at red lights and this is not normal! What do you guys think.

Spider, This is a real problem! H-D issued a recall for all 2006 FXDWG, Recall # 05V537000. You should have recieved a notice and your dealer should know about it. In the recall the defect summary reads: "On certain motorcycles, the transmission may go into a false neutral position even though the neutral indicator light is illuminated." Your dealer will replace the shifter cam (drum), the detent arm, and the neutral switch with newly designed components. This will correct the problem.

Take care of this as soon as possible, let us know how it works out. Thank you for your question.

Tommy & Bo, I just want to thank you guys. As it turns out you are right, Bike is in for repairs now. I'll let you know how it rides after I get it back.

Thanks again,
